Web ChangesThis is where we'll announce the most recent ISO 9000 news. If you've visited us before and want to know what's new, take a look here first. Reminder: If you are still registered to ISO 9001/2:1994, you only have until December 2003 to transition to ISO 9001:2000. If you haven't made the transition by then, your QMS will not be registered. According to Quality Digest (July 2002) between 40,000 to 55,0000 companies in the US and Canada still have to make the transition. Start planning your strategy to be registered before the deadline. In July 2002 Daimler Chrysler announced they will require their suppliers to be registered to ISO/TS 16949 by July 1, 2004. Until then registration to QS-9000 or VDA 6.1 is acceptable. Ford, General Motors, and Daimler-Chrysler have mandated the implementation of Environmental Management Systems by their suppliers. Ford requires all manufacturing sites of their suppliers to be certified to ISO 14001 by July 1, 2003. General Motors has set a date of December 2002 for suppliers to be certified, and Daimler-Chrysler is requiring suppliers to be certified by January 1, 2003. |
