Our Mission

Welcome to EMBC.  We provide consulting, auditing, and training services to companies wanting to better their business processes by improving their quality and/or reliability.  Please review our services.  Perhaps we can make a strong contribution to your organization.  We welcome the opportunity to explore this possibility with you. 

Company Profile

EMBC was founded in 1999 to assist clients with quality (hardware, software, and service), reliability, environmental and other aspects of technology management.  Simply stated, we can assist management to define the main elements of a profitable quality/reliability/environmental strategy by:

bulletAnalyzing current systems and determining how they can be made more effective.
bulletImplementing an effective Continuous Improvement Program and improving Customer Satisfaction.
bulletAssisting in the development of effective plans (quality, reliability, and/or environmental).
bulletProviding training in Quality, Reliability, and/or Environmental related topics.
bulletPerforming Quality and/or Environmental internal audits, and assisting in the determination and implementation of corrective actions.
bulletFacilitating retrospectives of completed projects to determine what worked well and correct those items that didn't work well.
bulletFacilitating Six Sigma Teams for greater dollar savings.

Qualifications

Edward M. Barabas is a Fellow of the American Society for Quality (ASQ).  He holds ASQ certification as a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt, Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Reliability Engineer, Certified Software Quality Engineer, and Certified Quality Auditor.  He is also an RAB Certified QMS Lead Auditor and an ANSI-RAB NAP Auditor.  Before founding EMBC in 1999, he was employed by Lucent Technologies-Bell Labs, Telcordia Technologies (formerly Bellcore), The Singer Company, General Instrument Corp., and Westinghouse Electric Corp.  Mr. Barabas is a recipient of the Bellcore "Aware of Excellence".

He recently co-authored a book entitled  TL 9000 Implementation Guide, published by McGraw-Hill.  It has been widely accepted by the Telecommunications Industry as the most comprehensive book on implementing TL 9000.

Mr. Barabas' degree in Physics and Mathematics from Susquehanna University was followed by an MBA from Seton Hall University.  He has lectured frequently, and authored numerous articles.  He is a past member of the RAB Board of Directors, and currently serves as a council member for the RAB Quality Management System Council.  He is a past member of ISO Technical Committee 176 on Quality Management which is responsible for the content of ISO 9000 and other quality standards, and IEC Technical Committee 56 on Dependability and Reliability.  In addition, he is an instructor for the North Jersey Section of ASQ, an adjunct instructor at a local college and is also a  Six Sigma Black Belt Master.  Mr. Barabas is an instructor for Six Sigma courses and other quality and environmental related courses for a large International Training Organization.
